About Marilyn

Marilyn Rankin is a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Maran Healthcare. With more than 15 years of healthcare experience, she brings a broad clinical perspective to psychiatric care and understands that mental health can affect—and be affected by—many aspects of a person's overall well-being.

Marilyn believes patients deserve more than a diagnosis and a prescription. She takes time to listen, understand the full picture, and involve each patient in decisions about their treatment. Her goal is to create a space where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions about their care.

Her healthcare background includes experience in psychiatry, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and pain management. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Marilyn served for seven years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman.

My Approach to Care

Marilyn takes a collaborative, evidence-based, and whole-person approach to psychiatric care. Treatment may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, education, lifestyle considerations, and collaboration with therapists and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

She believes you should understand why a treatment is being recommended, what to expect, and what your options are. Treatment decisions are made together, with the goal of finding an approach that is both clinically appropriate and realistic for your life.
